Lately
Summer....
Was so much fun! Here are a few things that we did.
While school was out I nannied for my boss! Which was great. It's nice to have a change up from the school I work at and then in the summer to nannying. I was able to go to Seattle this summer with the family I nanny for which was so much fun! It was definitely an adventure. I met the family down there with one of the children later on in the week and they went down a couple days before. We were in the San Juan Islands, which is absolutely beautiful!!!
Later on in the summer we were able to go to Las Vegas with Danielle and Kurtis to visit Alex's dad. It was so much fun and very very hot. We went to see Blue Man Group which was amazing! It was so funny and kept the audience involved the entire time, definitely recommend seeing that show if you go to Vegas. We went on the New York New York roller coaster, swam... ALOT and ate amazing food, my father in law is one amazing cook. It was much needed time spent with family and friends. It's always so hard to say goodbye to Alex's dad but luckily we go see him a lot.
Lately...
Alex and I were living with my parents which was great! We loved being there and spending time with family. But, recently we decided that it was time to move out. So we got an apartment which we absolutely love! It's so fun to be on our own again. We were opening all of our boxes of all of our stuff and it felt like christmas all over again because we had not seen our stuff for 5 months. It has been fun redecorating and making it home! Pictures to come.
We all know my luck with cars, well this summer my car decided to be VERY difficult. Every month the expenses to fix it just kept piling up. We were fed up with fixing my car so we decided that it was time to get me a new car. We met my grandpa who is a salesman down at Larry H Miller and started looking at cars. Alex and I fell in love with a brand new 2012 ford focus so there we started the car buying process, and WE GOT IT! We absolutely love our new car and it is so nice not having to worry about it breaking down on me. Let's hope my bad luck with cars ends now.

One year married to my best friend.
Holy Cow time flies by soooo dang fast!!! has it really been a year?! This has been the best year of my entire life. We have grown so much closer to one another and have created a bond that can never be broken.
Alex is the most amazing husband that I can ever ask for. He is so caring, so sincere, so loving, very understanding, hard working, honorable, dependable, passionate, selfless, an absolute gentleman, BEST husband ever, and such an incredible man and very very handsome. I have never met someone that is like him. He is definitely one of a kind and I wonder everyday how I got so lucky to have him be my husband, for me to be able to call him mine. All mine.
We have made so many great memories in this first year of marriage that we will never forget. I look forward to all of the new memories to come in the next years and look forward to all the anniversaries to come.
I am so very grateful for the temple and that we were able to be sealed to one another for time and all eternity. I love knowing that I have this incredible man by my side through everything.
Here is our video of the temple. I love watching this and remembering this special day. This was the most amazing day of my life. The day I become Mrs. Walz. Enjoy :)

one AMAZING year.
I can not believe it is June already and that we are so close to our one year anniversary!!! I remember the whole thing like it was yesterday and counting down the days until we got married. As I look back on this past year we have made some great memories! Some of my favorite are:
The day we got married.
The most amazing day EVER!! I remember waking up and could not believe that June 11 was FINALLY here. That I was finally going to be married to my best friend, the most amazing man ever!! I was so excited that Alex Walz was finally going to be my husband, not my fiance, not my boyfriend but my husband!! I had a hard time transitioning from calling him my fiance to my husband. Someone came and walked through our line and I introduced him as my fiance :/ [oops].
Our Honeymoon.
So we did not know where we were going to for our honeymoon until the night of our wedding. Alex's dad surprised us, so when we were leaving he handed us an envelope that had our plane tickets and the hotel reservations in it. Nobody knew where we were going until Alex had checked in on facebook at which airport we were at, which was really fun because everyone was waiting to find out. It was so nice to be able to go on a vacation with just Alex. We had so much fun in San Diego. We stayed right on the Bay, which was beautiful to wake up each morning to see the Ocean. My favorite memory was we were walking around this cute little shopping area on the streets and this little old man stops us and says, "You guys are the happiest couple here in San Diego, Don't you ever forget that." We made sure to write that down once we got back to our hotel just so that we could always remember that and how happy we make each other. Love my husband so much.
First Surgery.
About a month after we got married Alex woke up at 4:00 am in a ton of pain and feeling very sick. So I went to the store and got him some medicine. Which was laxatives. I thought I was being a good wife and knew exactly what was wrong. Well the medicine was not helping one single ounce, his pain just got worse and worse. He was huddled in a ball in so much pain. I had suggested many times that day that we should go to the doctor to see what was wrong, but being the stubborn husband he is, would not listen to me and say the typical boy response "I'm fine." Well finally at 5:00 pm I talked him into going to the insta-care. We got there and the doctor said we needed to go to the ER immediately and that it was Alex's appendix. Well we get to the ER and they take us back give Alex some pain meds (which he was VERY loopy) and had him drink this chalk stuff that tasted like lemonade so they could do a CT scan. They came back and said they would be with us soon about the results. They came in and said that he would have to go to emergency surgery and that they would come get him in 30 min. I was a wreck. Surgeries always scare me, what if something went wrong? It was hard giving him the last kiss before they wheeled him off. Luckily everything went well with surgery. He was so sweet back in the recovery room, he didn't care about himself, the whole time he kept asking the nurses to get me a pillow, get me a blanket, he even asked if they could get me a bed and making sure that I was ok. (you would think I was the one who had surgery.) He is the sweetest husband ever.
Las Vegas.
In August for my birthday we went to Las Vegas and we saw Lion King. Such a fun first birthday being married. Since then we have been back to Vegas 5 or so times because Alex's dad got a job and moved there. We miss him so much but it is always fun to go and visit him. He has such a beautiful house and a major plus, it has a pool. When we go there we just hang out by the pool the whole time.
Temple.
Every month we go to the temple with 2 amazing couples and great friends. We have made this a tradition which I absolutely love. Last month we went to the Salt Lake Temple and did sealings. We actually got to do the sealings in the exact same room which Alex and I were sealed. It was so fun to be in that room and holding hands thinking of the day we got married in that exact room. I love going to the temple and the spirit that is there.
I love my husband so much and am so grateful for him. We have made so many great memories in this (almost) year and I look forward to the many years to come. I am so glad that I get to spend my life with such an amazing man.

Cars. Cars. Cars. Over-rated.
I really am beginning to think I am just pure bad luck with cars.
My first car broke down on me every single day and it was always either while going through intersections, drive-throughs, our car washes. And it always worked perfectly fine for everyone else but me. My dad even fixed it one day, drove it EVERYWHERE and it never died on him so he told me to take it for a drive and see how it worked. Well it didn't' get very far. I pulled out of the drive way and it died. That car hated me and I hated it. :) but hey it gave me and all my friends great memories which we will never forget. Good Old Blue Thunder.
My car now goes through tires like none other!! We have to buy new tires for this car normally every 9 months. But other than that my car has been GREAT! (knock on wood)
So in October Alex and I bought a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee which we absolutely love! Only a few problems but we are willing to put up with it.
So a couple months after we got it we were driving to Las Vegas and it was making a really weird noise. So I called my dad (who is a mechanic) and asked him what it could be. It was the engine. My dad then told us that we could not drive our car and that he would come down and put it on a trailer and drive us home. So we ended up having to buy a new engine for our Jeep.
On Sunday Alex and I were driving home from his cousins homecoming in Provo and our Jeep would get stuck in a gear and would not change. So on Monday we planned after work to drive it to a place to get fixed. So Alex picked me up from work in my car and we drove home to pick up the jeep and I was going to follow him in my car up to the auto shop. Well, I get in my car and guess what?! MY CAR WOULDN'T START!!! Just our luck. I was so mad! Luckily my car was an easy fix and now is working great thanks to my Dad.
We are still waiting to hear back on our Jeep and hopefully get it back soon. For now we are somehow making it work with one car.
Keep your fingers crossed this is our last car troubles for a VERY VERY long time.
Who wants to boycott cars and just go back to the old pioneer way?

To go along with last nights post....
And he strikes again.... Always surprising me. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this man??
So today I was talking with one of my friends at work and then Kathy from the office walks in and says I have flowers. Seriously he is SO sweet! I don't know how or what I did to get so lucky to have him as my husband. I am so thankful for him and love him so dang much!

A little catching up....
I know I know, I have not blogged in forever! I promise I will be better :) So a little about what has been going on lately...
Most recently, we moved out of our cute little apartment in Cottonwood Heights and moved in with my parents so that we could save money for a down payment on a house! How could we resist? The housing market is amazing right now and you can get great deals out there! So we are pretty excited about that and hope to only be at my parents for about 8-9 months. So grateful for parents that can help us out.
Work is going great for both of us. About a 2 months ago Alex got a new job being a manager at Hugo Boss at City Creek Mall, which he absolutely loves! As for me, we only have like 3 weeks left with the kids and then SUMMER and nannying!
Next month we will be married for ONE YEAR! What?! where has time gone? It is so crazy to think that just a year ago I was planning our wedding, it seems like just yesterday. This year has been the best year of my life thanks to my amazing husband. I am so grateful that I have eternity with him and to have him by my side through everything!
( Just a little bragging about how amazing my husband is.) I have been wanting new clothes for such a long time I just never wanted to go and spend the money when I already have a ton of them but I am so very sick of them. So on Alex's day off he went out shopping and bought me a whole new outfit which was super cute, I was really impressed! I am so grateful to have such an amazing husband who pays attention to all the little details and still surprises me! This is one of the many favorite things about my husband, he is always so sweet and thinking of ways to surprise me. When we were dating he used to randomly put flowers on my car while I was at dance. Isn't he the best?? Love this man so much!

Winter Fun :)
The Thomson side of my family always does a Christmas party and santa is always there and brings presents to the children (this was my first year not having to sit on Santa's lap!! one of the many perks of being married) It was so fun to see the kids get so excited to see Santa!
So I work at a school and am a teaching assistant and it is so fun! We just barely had our Christmas performance and it was so stinkin cute! The theme was polar express and they did the whole story with singing and dancing, they were adorable! It's so fun to be around children around the holidays.
To top off the night we ended up watching my niece and nephew which is always so much fun!
Life is GREAT!!!
